Welcome to our website where you can see our haflingers, find out a bit about the breed and see our stock for sale.
We hope you enjoy your visit and come back regularily to see updates.
We bought our first Haflinger in 2005, it is a breed we have always been interested in and have read such good reports of the breed that at the end of 2005 we decided to take the plunge and buy our own.
After a lot of research we found a breeder in the Netherlands who sold us our first two Haflingers Dionne and Tessa. we bought them without seeing them but when they arrived in the UK we and passers by the field we put them in couldn't believe how beautiful these horses were. Both had exceptionally long, white manes and tails with the most wonderful dappled chestnut coats, althought they were young they were so calm and placid and we could do anything with them right from the start.
From then on we were hooked, we then bought a stallion from America who is ride and drive and does absolutely anything.
The strikingly attractive Haflinger originates from the Tyrolean mountains on the border of Austria and northern Italy. This part of Europe is very rugged and many villages could only be reached by means of steep mountain paths. Villagers required surefooted animals for their daily transport in the mountain terrain.
The Haflinger is always chestnut with a white/flaxen mane, the body can be dappled and varying shades are acceptable.Height: approximately 13.2 -15hh
Haflingers are sturdy horses, with well muscled loins and hindquarters and strong legs. with a strong stocky body
Character: gentle, intelligent, well-mannered, enjoys human contact, ideal for pleasure riding/trails and all round family horse
